I’ve lived in West Palm Beach since 2014 and have been obsessed with this cute little city since day one. I’ve collected the best places to stay, what to do and where to eat during a Palm Beach County staycation. Consider this your insider’s guide to Palm Beach, Florida.
Whether you are traveling to Palm Beach from near or far, I think you will LOVE this staycation guide. I think it’s important to mention that I have worked in the luxury hospitality industry for over 6 years now, so my hotel standards are top notch. The recommendations below are only the best – pinky promise you won’t be disappointed!
Please note that this guide covers Palm Beach County as a whole, not just Palm Beach, Florida.
If you are a Florida native planning a Palm Beach county staycation, be sure to call the local properties before booking your stay. Many Palm Beach county hotels offer special Florida resident hotel deals to locals.
The Eau Palm Beach is located in a tiny town called Manalapan, which is just south of Palm Beach, FL. Conveniently situated on 7 acres of oceanfront beauty, full of lush tropical plants and unlimited sunshine, the Eau is a Palm Beach masterpiece. Not only is the Eau Palm Beach, stunningly beautiful, but it is also family owned.
With 19 private spa rooms (with a private terrace, like what!!!), relaxation is not far away. Between massages, skin care treatments and other relaxation therapies, there is a spa offering for everyone. If you’re booking a stay at the Eau, the spa needs to be on your itinerary.
Let’s talk dining during your stay. For a casual beach side lunch or happy hour, Breeze Ocean Kitchen is my top recommendation. The service in unbelievable and the staff is the friendliest group of people. Shout out to Stevens – he was an incredible server that made my time at the Eau unforgettable. To see some of the amazing items on the menu, check out this Instagram post. The ice cream cookie sandwiches are to DIE FOR and the lobster roll was DELISH.
If you’re feeling a happy hour situation (who doesn’t love a good deal, right?!), Breeze Ocean Kitchen has a special 2020 deal – 2 tacos and a margarita for $20.20. Sign me up! Be sure to check out their Instagram HERE for current deals. Breeze Ocean Kitchen opens at 11am and is open to hotel guests and the public.

Visit Palm Beach has so many amazing activities available for all ages and interests. Sunset cruises, paddle boarding and kayaking are just a few of the fun water sports that everyone can enjoy. Set sail on board the Hakuna Matata to cruise around the intracoastal with upbeat playlists, yummy drinks and the most incredible staff. Sunset cruises are 90 minutes and start at $30/person.
If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, rent a paddle board from the downtown dock. Explore the intracoastal from a different perspective. Chances are you might even see manatees and other wildlife – it’s such a cool experience! Make sure to note that paddleboard rentals are by reservation only, so check the website in advance to ensure availability!
If waterfront activities aren’t your thing, you can also rent bikes from Upcycle WPB to explore the city. The visitor center is located downtown by the waterfront and has plenty of info for first time visitors and long term locals. Stay up to date on local events by following their Instagram HERE.
I plan all of my vacations around food, so trust me, all of these places are a must.
I can confidently say that Papichulo’s Tacos is the BEST happy hour in Palm Beach County. The restaurant is located in Jupiter, Florida and is incredibly aesthetic. With happy hour everyday from 11am-6pm, these deals cannot be beat. Spend the day enjoying the gorgeous Jupiter beaches and finish it off with the best queos and margaritas in town. Seriously, you’ll want to get some queso and chips to go for a midnight snack.
If you’re going to be in Palm Beach County for a staycation, it would be remiss of me not to suggest going to Worth Ave at least once. If you don’t plan on buying something from Gucci or Chanel, my next best suggestion would be stopping by Pizza al Fresco.
This traditional Italian restaurant is tucked off of Worth Ave and offers the best brick oven pizza I’ve had in the states. The ambiance in the courtyard cannot be beat. Twinkle lights, gorgeous bougainvillea and traditional architecture make their chic courtyard perfectly romantic for a date night during this Palm Beach vacation
Viva la Playa is Lake Worth’s newest oceanside cocina providing tasty craft cocktails and cuisine with a Latin flair. Be sure to put their Sunday brunch on your itinerary when planning your Palm Beach County staycation – the ocean views and flowing sangria is the best way to start the day.
Every day I fall more in love with Palm Beach, and I hope this guide can help you plan your own adventure!! If you’ve been to Palm Beach before or are a local, what is your favorite part about this tropical island paradise?
